THE FOSTER CARE CRISIS
There is an invisible crisis happening in our Central Texas neighborhoods right now. Every week children are removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment in our community. Many enter the foster care system. They are our community’s “modern-day orphans”—because their parents are not able to care for them.
Many children will be separated from their siblings, sent out of their county, or go to live in shelters.
The crisis goes on for young adults who age out of foster care without a family or the life skills to succeed on their own. The cycle continues as young women face unplanned pregnancies without a place of refuge and resources to change their future.
SOLUTIONS
4Points Family Services, through 4PointsKids foster care, brings hope to babies, kids, teens, and young adults by providing safe and secure environments for healing, equipped parents and caregivers who are trained to love kids from hard places, essential resources to meet their physical needs, nurturing counsel to help them thrive, and a renewed sense of their God-given value in their hearts.
For the hundreds of children who are removed from their homes each year 4PointsKids will have scores of foster families across Central Texas counties, Austin to Waco, to meet the need.
Many children in foster care are legally available for adoption. In fact, nearly 6000 children are currently awaiting an adoptive home. 4Points Family Services works together with state officials and adoptive parents to place children into permanent adoptive homes.
